Southern Manitoba Photographer | Spring HDR

1 May

As some of you may know, I’m a HUGE fan of HDR photography! There is a lot of skill and knowledge that goes in to creating a true HDR image. Even though the images below look extremely processed (or photoshopped), there was minimal work done on them. That’s one of the awesome things about HDR! They’re not everyone’s style or taste, but that’s ok!

Southern Manitoba Photographer | March Instagram

15 Apr

So, how many of you hopped on the Instagram bandwagon? I’ll be the first to admit that it was the 2nd app I downloaded when I got my iPhone a year ago (Facebook was the 1st…). I realized that I don’t share a lot of personal posts on here, and I’d like to change that!
So…I decided that once a month, you’ll get to see the Hildebrand family life according to Instagram!

Here is March!

March

What I’m planning on doing with these is printing out an 8×10 copy at the end of each month and putting it into a photo album. I tend not to print my personal photos (At the end of a month I usually end up with 300ish edited family-type photos) as I  don’t have the ability to choose which ones I’d like to print! So I figured that until the day comes where I do decide to print them all, this will do! I’ll try to post a picture of what my album looks like when I find one I like!
You wouldn’t even have to print them! You could just create a photo-book at the end of the year with them!

If you’re familier with photoshop and would like a copy of the template that I used, you can download it here!

Note: I used Photoshop CS5 to create this, so I can’t guarantee that it’ll work on every version of photoshop. The font I used is called Ostrich Sans Rounded, and is free! You’ll need to know how to use clipping masks to use this template.

Southern Manitoba Photographer | Miss Keynen

10 Feb

You may recognize Karmyn from the maternity session that I shot a few weeks ago. Her little one finally made her appearance!
This sweet little girl has completely captured my heart! While she made us really work for the shots we got, I think it was totally worth it!

Southern Manitoba Photographer | Eliza turns 2

10 Jan

Well it’s time for one of my kiddos to grace the presence of this site! I can’t believe my baby is turning 2 in just a few short weeks!! We’re almost done with so many things that I thought we’d be in forever (mainly diapers!). I wanted to get her mini session done before the cold weather and snow we’re supposed to get came!

If you know Eliza, you’ll know that she LOVES cupcakes, stuffed toys (Pig and Bunny), tea parties, playing outside, and fuzzy soft things.
So I figured this session would sum her up in a nutshell!

Eliza 2 yearsOf course I had to get a few of all 3 kiddos! I have one Chandler Bing, One deer in headlights, and one photogenic one. I bet you can pick them out pretty quickly!

Southern Manitoba Photographer | Elf on the Shelf

31 Dec

Well seeing as it’s the final day of 2012, I figured I’d share the last adventures of our Elf Tim! My kids were in love with this elf this year, and there were a few tears shed when they found out that he got put away. To be honest, I had meant to post these last week already, but this past week has been very busy! So here they are!

Southern Manitoba Photographer | Christmas has come

9 Dec

I have to admit, i’m OBSESSED with Christmas! Growing up, Christmas was such a huge part of my life. My parents sold Christmas trees, my mom baked up a storm, we decked out the house, we sang carols, and listened to Christmas music. How could you NOT love Christmas with a childhood like that?!

So after the hubs and I got married, it’s took me a while to figure out how I wanted to decorate. I knew what I REALLY wanted and what wasn’t super important. Only this year, have I finally been happy with how it all looks! Even though my house is small and super practical, I love how crowded it becomes with Christmas stuff!

Now on to traditions! December 1st is a big day for us! Even though I do most of the Christmas decorating on November 1st, the tree only goes up on December 1st. As a family, we decorate the tree with the kids doing the majority of the decorating (so we never know how the tree will look). After we decorate, we order in Pizza and watch a Christmas movie while we eat. After supper, we read the Elf on the Shelf book and introduce Tim (our elf) and let the kids open the presents that he brings. Tim the Elf always brings the kids a new pair of Christmas pajamas and a new Christmas book.

Here’s a sneak peak at what Tim was up to the first week in our house
